The novel Eccedentesiast is the work of Ita Kurniawati, published in 2022 from the publisher Akad Media Cakrawala, Depok. The novel has 356 pages. This novel by Ita Kurniawati is a work that touches the heart and makes a deep impression. This novel succeeds in peeling off layer by layer of the main character, Canva Narendra, a teenager who hides inner wounds behind his cheerful smile.

Canva Narendra: Canva is a complex and nuanced figure. Behind his bright smile, he harbors deep emotional wounds resulting from his illness. Canva is described as a smart, caring teenager who has a great sense of humor. He is a strong figure and tries to stay strong even though he faces tough life trials.

Marvel: Canva's closest friend who is always there for him. Marvel is a loyal and loving figure. He is often a place where Canva can pour out his heart.

Diamond gang: all kind and loving Canva 

Family: Canva's parents work abroad and rarely see him. Missing parental love is one of Canva's motivations to survive. 

Zayyan Abrisam and his gang: Canva's mortal enemies who often make him feel pressured and intimidated. Zayyan is an arrogant figure and likes looking for trouble.

Aily: Aily is an independent figure and doesn't want to bother other people. He tries to live life as fully as possible with his limitations.


Synopsis 

The novel Eccedentesiast tells the story of Canva Narendra, a man who loves his family very much. However, Canva felt abandoned by his father and mother who worked abroad. As a result, Canva had to live with his grandmother and lost the figure of his parents who accompanied him in his daily life. 

Canva's life was filled with a deep sense of longing. Not only that, he was also a victim of bullying when he was in junior high school. Luckily, Canva is not one to give up easily. He continues to try to be the best in academics to attract the attention of his parents. 

Canva even won awards and took part in the National Science Competition to make his parents proud. However, Canva's struggle is not easy. Luckily he got a lot of support from the Diamond Gang led by Samuel. Together with his gang of friends who are always there for him, Canva tries hard to make his dream come true to meet his father and mother and make them proud. Moreover, there was a blind girl he met accidentally named Aily in the Diamond gang who colored his life. 

However, life's storms never seem to subside. Canva has to face an enemy from his past, Zayyan Abrisam, who disrupts his ambition to win an Olympic award. When Canva's hopes began to fade, he again faced a man named Venus who made his problems even more complicated. On the other hand, Canva should try chronic kidney failure. 

Luckily Canva has a friend who really loves him, he is Marvel. Canva hid his illness from everyone, only Marvel knew that Canva was sick.


Excess:

1. The characters of the characters are very complex 

2. Deep and memorable themes 

3. Writing style that attracts readers 

4. The storyline is good and not complicated 


Lack : 

1. Some parts of the story may feel too dramatic or melodramatic 

2. Some plot twists may be guessed by experienced readers


Conclusion 

Eccedentesiast is a heart-touching novel that I highly recommend reading. This novel is not only entertaining, but also provides many lessons for our lives about courage, friendship, and the importance of appreciating every moment that occurs so that there are no regrets. If you are looking for a novel that will make you feel various emotions, then Eccedentesiast is the right choice. I highly recommend it for those of you who love novels that contain onions.
